YORK City Knights have been drawn away to Dewsbury Rams in the fifth round of the Challenge Cup.

The Knights, whose men beat League One rivals Keighley 20-12 at Bootham Crescent on Sunday to make it through, went into the hat alongside the 11 other fourth-round winners plus four Super League clubs – the bottom four from last year's final standings. The other eight Super League clubs enter in round six.

Heading to Dewsbury - who knocked out Championship favourites Bradford Bulls 31-30 in a thriller last Friday night - represents a very tough task for the Knights, and is not the home game or money-spinning tie head coach James Ford had wanted.

However, he said it was a tie to look forward to. It will be played over the weekend of April 16-17.

"It's a good draw for both clubs," said Ford.

"They will obviously be big favourites and will expect to go through but it also gives us an excellent chance to test ourselves against a very good side from the division above.

"We'll look forward to it."

The draw was conducted by Wigan and England star Sam Tomkins and Chris Hill, a winner with Warrington in the 2012 final, who was a late replacement for three-time Lance Todd Trophy winner Sean Long.

York's arch-rivals, Hunslet, were handed Super League opposition in Salford at home, as were fellow League One side Rochdale, at home to current top-tier leaders Widnes, while arguably the tie of the round sees Championship big-guns Leigh Centurions go over the Channel to League One favourites Toulouse Olympique.

The one community club left in the competition, Lock Lane from Castleford, were drawn at Championship high-rollers Halifax.

Challenge Cup fifth round draw in full: Wakefield v Sheffield, Hull KR v Oldham, Toulouse Olympique v Leigh Centurions, Rochdale v Widnes Vikings, Hunslet v Salford, Halifax v Lock Lane, Batley v Featherstone, Dewsbury v York City Knights. Ties to be played over the weekend of April 16-17, with one game to be televised by Sky Sports.
