YORK City Knights are likely to have all three of their dual-reg regulars available for Sunday's key League One clash with Newcastle at Elmpark Way.

There was speculation that parent club Castleford might recall James Clare after his four-try haul in York's win over Gloucestershire All Golds, on the same weekend the Tigers lost to Hull.

However, the winger has again been made available for James Ford's promotion-seekers and will look to add to his tally of nine tries in seven appearances.

Additionally, teenage stand-off Jordan Howden, who was a big doubt after hobbling off last Saturday with a knee injury, has trained this week and, if there are no ill-effects between now and Sunday, he too will play. Initial fears of bad ligament damage had already been dispelled.

Fellow Cas player Michael Channing is also poised to make his seventh appearance at centre for York.

Head coach Ford said: "Daryl Powell (Cas boss) has got a very good squad and some very good outside-backs and James and Michael are part of that.

"I'm sure Daryl considers them, given the way they have been playing and conducting themselves for York, but while they're available, I'm very pleased to have them."

On Howden, Ford added: "Jordan has trained this week and I think he will be available."
