When you're playing at home and your goalkeeper is named man of the match you know it has not been your day.
And as Steve Farrelly accepted Saturday's accolade, boss Geoff Chapple was bemoaning another mediocre performance from a side fast becoming the draw specialists of the Nationwide Conference.
"We didn't play that much football and over the 90 minutes. I think Morecambe edged it. On the performance we gave we have to be thankful for a point," said Chapple.
"We were not stringing the passes together, which I can't understand because we are a passing side. They have two giant defenders and we were putting the ball right on their heads."
Ks had a great chance just before half time when Mark Harris got between three defenders to meet a free kick. Had he kept the header down it was a certain goal, but it went over the bar.
In the second half Ks came more into it but still required the services of Farrelly to save them on a couple of occasions.
A crowd of about 900 made Kingsmeadow an eerie place to be on Saturday. Chapple said: "There was a lack of atmosphere but we failed to lift the crowd. It was the same old story but at this level you really do have to win your home games."
