ADAM HINSHELWOOD intends for his York City side to ‘embrace’ Saturday’s atmosphere as Woking visit a packed-out LNER.

Hinshelwood is keen for his York side to entertain supporters in their final home match of the Vanarama National League season, as the Minstermen look to avoid a slip up in their ongoing battle against relegation.

Woking are the visitors, also finding themselves in a precarious position, arriving into North Yorkshire with two defeats in their previous ten.

“We’ve got to embrace that and look forward to that, and try to get the business done,” Hinshelwood urged.

“We are at a stage where every moment in the game matters and we can’t afford to lose our concentration in our game for a moment.

"The key thing is our moments and lapses of concentration that will be punished at this level.

“If we have a weakness for a moment in the game, then you’re going to get punished for it so it’s something that we’ve got to keep concentrated.

“Mentally, we have got to be ready for the game.

“They’ve got a lot of pace and power up front and they like to press high and get after teams.

“They work really hard and we’ve got to be wary of it.

"They’ve come with some dangers in areas and it’s another team that are good from set-pieces as well, so we’ve got to be wary of their play.

“At the same time, not focus too much on what the opposition are going to do.

"You never know if they are going to press or drop in like Eastleigh.

“Ultimately it doesn’t matter as we have to have a way to combat that and be more threatening towards their goal.”

Hinshelwood has been pleased by how his side has risen to the relegation challenge, with the City boss hoping that his team can maintain a high level of performance when the Cardinals visit this afternoon (3pm).

Hinshelwood admitted: “They have shown in recent weeks and in the last few games in particular that in large parts, they have embraced the challenge.

“Since I have come in really we have been in a similar situation where every game is massive, so we’re hoping that the level of performance as of late has given them confidence and belief in how they can perform on the pitch.

“That will help with them being confident going into Saturday.”
