ADAM HINSHELWOOD has been named as the Vanarama National League Manager of the Week.

The York City boss has been recognised for his recent efforts in the Minstermen's upturn in form, after a hugely positive few weeks for the football club.

A 2-1 victory over National League champions Chesterfield on Good Friday was followed by a 1-1 draw with play-off hopefuls FC Halifax Town on Tuesday evening, after a stoppage time equaliser denied York three points.

Hinshelwood's side have risen as high as 17th in the National League table and escaped the relegation zone in recent weeks, which also included a 1-0 victory over Aldershot Town and a 2-0 triumph over Bromley.

The York boss will now turn his attention to City's return to the LNER Community Stadium on Saturday, April 6 (3pm), when Eastleigh make the long trip up into North Yorkshire.

With three matches remaining for the Minstermen, Hinshelwood's side are level on points with Eastleigh, and three points could see York reach 13th in the table, depending on results elsewhere and goal difference.
