JON Worsnop is the early leader of The Press Player of the Year contest for September.
The 34-year-old keeper, pictured, has been our second-highest rated performer in both of the last two matches – the 2-0 defeat at Chorley and Tuesday night’s 4-2 triumph at Spennymoor, earning him a combined total of four points towards the standings.
Worsnop also topped our Twitter man-of-the-match poll after the Spennymoor game, collecting the two Player of the Month bonus points available for that match.
The Press’ star man Jon Parkin (three) and our third highest-rated performer Josh Law (one) were recognised tool for their efforts at the Brewery Field.
At Chorley, the other Press points went to Law (three) and Dan Parslow (one), with Kaine Felix winning the Twitter vote.
