BATTLING Malton & Norton RUFC hit back from 24-3 down at half-time to beat North One East promotion-chasers Middlesbrough 29-27 at The Gannock.
The comeback was sealed with seconds remaining as forward Sam Triffitt charged down a Boro clearing kick, snapped up the loose ball and romped over for a superb try.
Ali Heard had earlier slotted a first-half penalty for Malt, but the half belonged the visitors.
Chris Creber and Ryan Lonsdale created a try for wing Josh Saunders early in the second half and Heard converted.
Lonsdale then crossed between the posts and Heard again obliged with the extras.
Full-back Ian Cooke was next to cross from 50 metres out and Heard levelled the scores with 15 minutes remaining.
Middlesbrough kicked a penalty with two minutes left on the clock, but they were unable to see out time and man-of-the-match Triffitt struck.
