Yorkshire Division Four: York RI 7 Skipton 28
YORK RI made their usual slow start against the well-drilled leaders and promotion favourites Skipton, who were 14-0 ahead after 14 minutes and 28-0 in front by the interval.
However, the home side began to play in the second half, and a sublime try by Chris Jones, converted by Baptiste Brui, gave them hope, and they came close to scoring a couple more times.
However, the New Laners had to be content with winning the second half 7-0.
Alec Webster was RI's man of the match in a much-improved team display.
