AFTER a frenetic weekend of senior and junior sevens, Pocklington return to 15-a-side league action when they travel north tomorrow to meet West Hartlepool.

Pock are aiming to get back to winning ways after two defeats – both against north east sides, Morpeth at home and Alnwick away.

West Hartlepool are four places above them in third in the north one east table. And there is added spice to the fixture as they are the former club of Pocklington coach, Mick Watson, who represented them in the Premiership in the late 1990s.

Unable to sustain the demands of the professional game, West Hartlepool lost their ground and tumbled down the leagues, but they have now stabilised and had their new clubhouse opened last Saturday by RFU President and World Cup winner, Jason Leonard.

The north-east outfit also snatched a controversial 19-18 victory over Pocklington at Percy Road in November when the game hinged on a conversion kick that was originally given out, then subsequently ruled in.

The visitors will field a strong side, although they are missing two three-quarters – Pete Massie who is on his concussion recovery protocol, and Billy Hardy, who is recovering from an appendix operation.

However, James Flint, is back uninjured from a skiing holiday and looks likely to return to the side.

Fresh from their sevens tournament being filmed on Good Friday, the club are back on our screens again on BT Sport's Rugby Tonight programme at 8pm on Monday – with former player Rob Webber returning to the club from Bath to recall the old days.
