New Earswick All Blacks ARLC got back to winning ways with a 22-16 success at Ossett Trinity in Pennine League division one east.

The All Blacks trailed 10-4 at the interval after Ossett scored two tries either side of a touch down by centre Max Brachen.

All Blacks started the second half brightly when a quick play the ball made space for Brachen to score his second and he converted to level the scores.

The York side then took the lead for the first time as a break down the middle saw returning full-back Steve Perks score under the sticks. Brachen converted.

Centre Jack Sinclair then crossed and winger James Pallister added the extras.

Ossett scored a converted try two minutes from the end, but the All Blacks held on for the victory.

Man of the match was scrum-half Liam Gargan, while there were strong performances from Perks and stand-off Andy Henson.

Heworth ‘A’ got into their stride in the second half against Northallerton Stallions to record their first win of the season in Yorkshire League division three.

The sides were level at 16-16 at the break but the Villagers went on to win 50-22 at Elmpark Way, Joe Murphy bagging a second-half hat-trick.

With a team weakened by first-team call-ups, it took the Villagers time to settle against lively visitors, who led for most of a scrappy first period.

Stallions’ scorers were Gary Beck with three ties and two goals from Lee Worsnop.

Heworth’s first-half try-scorers were Rich Rogers, Ken Embleton and Paul Gill, plus two goals from Dan Craig.

After the break Heworth’s forward dominance laid a platform for six further tries by Murphy (3), Embleton, Rogers and, Craig, who added five more conversions for a personal tally of 18 points.

Debutant Keith Paddock was man of the match, supported by substitutes Russ Carr and Mat McNamara. Northallerton’s lone try came from James Tyreman, Worsnop goaling.

New Earswick ‘A’ were beaten 28-18 at home by Drighlington ‘A’ in division four.

Selby Warriors trounced visitors West Craven Warriors 44-8 in division three, while Selby ‘A’ conceded their match at South Bradford in division seven.

A patched-up New Earswick All Blacks ‘A’ were beaten by Drighlington A 18-28 in division four.

Louis Pool, Gary Sissions and Michael Wall crossed for the All Blacks with Pool adding three goals for the man-of the-match award. George Pallister pushed Pool all the way after excelling.
