YORK Acorn 'A' continued their superb form with a 48-20 victory over Keighley Albion in Yorkshire Men's League division one.

After starting the season with seven straight defeats, Acorn's resurgence has seen them climb to sixth spot – with a top-three finish not completely out of the question.

Their win over Keighley began impressively, and after only three minutes Tom Mackley went over for a try out wide.

Albion stand off Alfie Seeley responded with a score, with Finlay Meegan adding the extras to give Keighley the lead.

On 15 minutes, Antony Chilton's kick on the last tackle was not cleared by Keighley’s full back, allowing Joe Burns to gratefully accept the chance of touching down.

Chilton added the conversion to regain the advantage, and that was extended after 32 minutes when Nathan Hammerton successfully dived in from dummy half with Chilton again converting.

Keighley hit back again before the break, with Seeley offloading to winger Connor Taylor who rounded his opposite number to score under the posts. Meegan converted.

There was still time before half-time for Acorn to score again – Ben Dale scampering over on the wing with Chilton's conversion giving his side a ten-point advantage.

Three minutes into the second period, Karl Harton extended Acorn's lead with another try before Dale added his second, which Chilton converted.

Keighley hit back when prop Joe Preston broke the line but Acorn added their seventh try when Chilton combined superbly with Paul Payne before kicking the extras himself.

Albion's Seeley crossed for his second try of the afternoon, but Acorn closed the game out in the last ten minutes with tries from Harton and Joel Johnson. Chilton capped his man of the match performance with his sixth conversion.
