MAN-OF-THE-MATCH winger Adam Sellars scored four tries as York Acorn 'A' cruised a fourth consecutive Yorkshire Men’s League Forty20 Cup final with a 52-0 thrashing of Shaw Cross Sharks 'A'.

Acorn won the first-ever final of this pre-season competition in 2013, lost the next two and will now face fellow YML premier division side Beverley for the trophy this year.

The semi-final remained scoreless for 22 minutes but, when Acorn forced an error close to Shaw Cross's line, they broke the deadlock from the scrum, Mark Sanderson rounding the defence.

Sellars soon got his first from an Andy Gargan grubber, and the veteran schemer was again the architect as Harry Bromwich scored from another kick, the Sharks full-back erring under the high ball.

The second period was again huff and puff early on but when Acorn's pressure in the forwards paid off, the floodgates opened.

Adam Speck ran a great line to crash over, a booming pass from Gargan fell nicely to Sellars for a walk-in, and Joel Johnson timed his run perfectly to score from a Dan Lazenby kick.

Johnson got a second on a 40-metre interception, full-back Lazenby breezed through, and Sellars completed his hat-trick on a great angled run.

Sellars completed the rout when taking in a high ball on the last tackle of the game and running 40 metres home.

The impressive Lazenby added six goals in all.
