ROTARY York Ainsty will be welcoming a rugby league great to a charity event on Wednesday, March 9.

The event, hosted by BBC’s Tanya Arnold, will have Leeds Rhinos and England legend Kevin Sinfield as the guest speaker.

The evening will be in aid of Hope and Homes for Children, a registered UK charity working with children around the world, which was set up in 1994 by Mark Cook and wife Caroline.

Hosted at the York Sports Club, Clifton Park, Shipton Road, York, the dinner will take place between 7pm and 10pm with a buffet included.

The much-decorated Sinfield, 35, who is finishing his playing days in rugby union after memorably taking the Rhinos to the domestic treble in his final season in Super League, recently became the first rugby league player ever to be nominated for the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year, finishing second to tennis star Andy Murray.

Tickets for the dinner are £25 per head and can be bought from Stephen Ellis on 07831 225168, with tables of ten available.
