GOLD, silver and bronze medals were won by youngsters from York-based Old Priory Judo Club at a Junior Age Competition in Gainsborough.

Sam Grice won gold in the boys’ under- 8s category - a feat matched by Eliana Soma in the girls’ U12s event.

Anna Kedge scooped silver in the girls’ U16s, while Jarrad Bray was a bronze medallist in the equivalent boys’ competition.

There was another silver for Seb Soma in the boys’ U10s, with club-mate Cameron Rochester-Tillott winning bronze.

Freddie Hargreaves was seventh in the U8s category, Alex Golding came ninth in the boys’ U10s and, in the boys’ U12 event, Jacob Bates was tenth and Joshua Bates 11th.

Joe Readman was fifth in the boys’ U16s section.

The club have started a new Friday class at York Elite in Osbaldwick, with four to eight year olds from 6pm to 7.30pm, and nine year olds to adults from 7pm to 9pm.
