THE new team at Wigginton Grasshoppers have been cheered by a sponsorship deal to supplement their fine start to the new season - but further boosts are needed on and off the field.
The Grasshoppers' girls under-10s team recently formed ahead of this season and have been helped by sponsorship Haxby Group Practice.
Their second and latest competitive match in a York development league brought a 5-0 win over counterparts from Stamford Bridge, with some fantastic attacking football on show.
However, with only nine players, they needed more to join up, while they are seeking a sponsor for waterproof rain jackets for training and match-days.
The team train on Mondays from 6pm to 7pm at Wigginton Squash Club's playing fields, with matches taking place on Saturdays.
