THORPE United Under-15s are four points clear at the top of division one in the Garforth Junior Football League after a 2-0 victory over Farsley Celtic.

Horsforth St Margarets are second with two games in hand, but Farsley are now 12 points adrift with only three games in hand.

Thorpe had the better of the first half and took the lead when Corey Littlefield intercepted a weak goalkick, held off a defender and netted with a powerful drive.

After a brief Farsley flurry, Shaun Heselwood combined with Littlefield to tee up Richard Buckthorpe, who shot across the Farsley keeper to double the lead.

Farsley dominated the second half but Thorpe put on a defensive master class.
