A HALF-CENTURY from Rob Scarr steered Hemingbrough to victory over Selby in Zone ‘A’ of the York & District Junior Cricket Association Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire Under-15s League.

Scarr retired on 50 and B Lister made 29 as Brough totalled 118-8, despite some tidy bowling from B Steward, who took 5-15.

Selby were then restricted to 101-3 as Brough won by 12 runs.

Andrew Brewster (46) and Joseph Atkinson (32) helped Bolton Percy to 104-1, but York ‘B’s D Lockwood scored 41 to see his side to a five-wicket win.

In Zone ‘B’, York ‘A’ started strongly by demolishing Acomb by eight wickets.

Peter Boxall and B Williams took three wickets each as Acomb were dismissed for only 30.

Hamish Lynde made 19 not out as York eased to victory.

Ovington made a winning start at Malton.

W Spencer retired on 50 in Malton’s 87-2 but, despite J Smith and A Caine taking two wickets each, Chris Tune’s 36 not out took Ovington to a winning 88-6.

Heworth totalled 121-3 against Clifton Alliance thanks to Tom Neal (30), Will Rymer (35) and D Ingleby (25).

Clifton Alliance could only muster 102-4, with Will Scholey retiring on 54. Heworth’s Tom Neal took 3-9.

Dunnington were eight-wicket winners over Osbaldwick in Zone ‘C’.

Dan Barrett’s 51 retired took Osbaldwick to 128-3, but unbeaten fifties by Danny Andrew and Oliver Smith powered Dunnington to victory.

Eddie Salmon’s 50 not out gave Londesborough Park an eight-wicket win against Yapham, whose S Hardwick scored 39 not out in a total of 97-5.
