YORKSHIRE’S top young cricketers are all set for the new season after a winter of top coaching.
The Yorkshire Cricket Board’s Pathways to Cricket Excellence winter coaching scheme incorporates the coaching sessions run by Yorkshire CCC, the Yorkshire Schools Cricket Association and the former YCA Centre of Excellence.
Training camps have been held across the region, including at St Olave’s School in York.
The scheme operates at three levels – gold, silver and bronze and players included: Bronze: Ellie Chips, Rosie Todd (Dunnington), Georgia Ryan, Jemma Pedder (Knaresborough), Emily Atkinson (Ouseburn), Kate Reader (Selby), Lily Spencer-Brown (Helperby), Sam Beales, Cameron Burdass, Jake Long, Cameron Lynde, Toby Pratt (all York), Thomas Neal (Heworth), Freddie Parry, Jonathan Rawsthorne (Osbaldwick), Kawser Ahmed, William Donald, Callum Ferrie, James Pick, Daniel Pickering, Jordan Welford (all Scarborough), Charles Hill, Toby Latham, Oliver Leedham, George Wainwright (all Sheriff Hutton Bridge). Silver: Emily Jordan (Helperby), Charlotte North (Harrogate), Andrew Simpson (York), Martin Fisher (Sheriff Hutton Bridge). Gold: Rachel Hildreth (Rufforth & Pannal), Hania Thompson (Harrogate), Jessica Watson (Sessay), Jonathan Tattersall, Greame Whiles (Knaresborough), Jack Holt (Scarborough), Ben Elvidge (Folkton & Flixton), Ben England (Thirsk).
