JUST three runs separated Heworth ‘B’ from hosts Bolton Percy in zone ‘A’ of the Quality Solicitors Burn & Company Under-9s Championship.

It was a day to remember for debutant Edward Hanley as he took 2-3 in two overs and scored nine runs in Heworth’s win. Reece Thompson also hit ten.

Clifton Alliance U9 had a glut of runs and wickets in their win over Sheriff Hutton Bridge.

Toby Baker made 33 not out and took 1-6, Ollie Brooks-Humphreys 18 not out and 2-0, Jamie Hudson 18 and 1-0, Ben Bruce 16 not out, Matthew Carruthers 16 not out and 2-8 and Matthew Dawes 1-6.

York ‘A’ remain at the top of the table with an 11 run win over hosts Acomb ‘A’. Billy Armistead made 16 and took 2-11 for the home team, aided by Thomas Wood (12 and 2-6), Charlie Grayson (1-8) and Kitty Townend (1-15).

York’s runs came from Ellis Smith (25) and Dash Johar (9), with the latter capturing 1-5, Miles Phillips 1-8 and Joe Wilkinson 1-13.

Malton & Old Malton ran out sevenrun winners at Heworth ‘A’ in zone ‘B’. Raul Patel hit nine not out.

A young Osbaldwick team gave leaders Londesborough Park a good game before Park ran out winners.

For the home team, Ollie Rook hit 30, Tom Dickinson 23 not out and Toby Williamson 13. Dickinson also took 1-4 and Harry Mercer 1-3.

Joseph Hall made 11 not out for Osbaldwick and Jacob Bulmer ten not out.

Osbaldwick were also involved in a good game that ended in defeat against Acomb ‘B’. Archie Pye hit 36, Will White 13 not out and Patrick Wood 15 not out.

With the ball, Wood took 2-2 and Pye 2-13. Osbaldwick’s leading scorer was Jacob Bulmer with 19 and Joseph Hall 16. Bulmer had figures of 2-8.

Clifton Alliance and York fought out a dramatic tie in zone ‘C’ of the U9 Development League.

The match ended with both sides level on 262 runs each. For Alliance, Freddie Marshall made 17 and took 2-3 and Matthew Ficci struck 13.

York’s Alfie Palmer took 3-8, Henry Budgen 1-6 and Robinson 0-4 with 15 from the bat of Budgen.

Hosts Acomb ‘D’ had a seven-run win over North Duffield in a high scoring game in zone ‘D’.

Acomb’s Alex Cooper hit 23 not out, supported by 15 from Patrick Tingle and 12 from Archie Burke.

Tingle also took 1-16. Luke Trevaskis hit back for Duffield with 25 not out and 1-12, support coming from Luke Miller 21 not out and 1-15 with contributions from Max Hargraves 16 and Lucas Ruane 1-23.

Pocklington proved too strong for North Duffield thanks to 29 not out from Charlie Miller, 22 not out and 1-8 from Tess Kirren, and 20 not out and 1-9 from Harry Scrawston.

Budgen (30) and Aiden Doeg (27) made runs for York ‘B’ in a four-run win over visitors Drax. Budgen also took 3-8 along with 2-13 from Mollie Ovenden.
