THE hunt is on for Yorkshire’s next top cricket commentator, writes Toby Latham.

County sponsors Wensleydale Creamery are calling on young cricket fans under the age of 15 to put their commentating skills to the test in a new competition.

All budding Geoffrey Boycott’s who enter have the chance of winning a prize which includes hospitality passes to England’s one-day international against Australia at Headingley on Friday, September 6, an exclusive media tour and a VIP visit to the Wensleydale Creamery.

To enter, visit the website www.yorkshireccc.com/commerical/sponsorship/junior-voice-of-cricket/1039 where there will be a short video clip of Yorkshire cricket footage.

Aspiring commentators then simply need to create an audio or video file – links to youtube are also accepted – with their own commentary to the clip before sending their entries to juniorvoice@hatchpr.co.uk before the closing date of Friday, August 16.

A panel of judges will pick the top five entries, who will subsequently be invited to attend a match at Headingley, where they will not only watch the match but also showcase their talents by interviewing players, as well as receiving a masterclass from the resident media team.

The final five videos will then be put online where fans, friends and families can vote for their favourite. The one with the most votes will win the star prize.
