TWO more wins extended the unbeaten record of Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire Under-15 Championship zone ‘A’ leaders York ‘A’.

Having restricted Woodhouse Grange to 82-8 in their 20 overs York knocked them off to record a five-wicket win.

Then, batting first against Dunnington, they posted 118-5 thanks to Kieran Bloor’s 36 and 32 from Ted Patmore. Despite a knock of 27 from Jay Snowden, Dunnington closed on 69-9.

Matthew Maltby (25 and 3-14) starred as second-placed Sheriff Hutton Bridge beat Selby by eight runs. Joe Simpson also contributed to the Bridge cause with 28.

York and Bridge meet in the final round of games.

Third-placed Acomb lost ground losing to Woodhouse Grange. Luke Wilson hit 30 and Tom Stubbley 33 not out as Grange were bowled out for 90. Will Fryer’s 43no in the Acomb cause was not enough as his team perished on 80 all out.

In the derby between Bolton Percy and Tadcaster Magnets, Percy batted first and thanks to Charlie Gregory (27) and Matt Orr (26no) were able to close with 99-7. Magnets came close but ran out of overs on 90-7.

In another derby, Dringhouses had the better of Bishopthorpe. Jacob Green top-scored with 29 in a Dringhouses score of 78-8, despite 4-7 from Angus Bindloss, which included a hat-trick. Bishopthorpe totalled just 68-9. Zone ‘B’ is a three-horse race with Malton & Old Malton, Londesborough Park and Ovington vying for two play-off spots.

Ovington hit 92 all out against Clifton Alliance thanks to 24 from J Browning and with Jamie Butt claiming 3-8 for Alliance. Joe Kilvington top-scored with 29 in reply as Matty Roberts finished with 3-18 to restrict Alliance to 67-9.

Londesborough Park bowled Pocklington out for 81 with Joe Shingles taking 4-4 and Daniel Jacques making 31. Nathan Saltmer hit 26 in Park’s 85-3.

Malton & Old Malton had a ten-wicket win over Heworth led by openers Shaun Harland (39no) and Matthew Butler (34no). Although Will Huffer made 40 for Heworth he lacked support and they could only muster 74-8.

York ‘B’ took first knock against Osbaldwick and, thanks to Will Fordy’s unbeaten 50 and Will Andrews’ 34, closed on 127-3. Osbaldwick’s 95-4 featured 29 from Adam Guilford and 32 from Connor Wade.
