SHERBURN referee Lucy Haskell is dreaming of going all the way to the top.
The 15-year-old Sherburn High School pupil is a goalkeeper with Brayton Belles on Saturday mornings, and then she referees in the Selby Junior Football League on Sundays.
Haskell, one of two women officials in the Barkston Ash Referees’ Association, is currently unable to referee players above the age of 14 due to her age, but will be able to referee all age groups when she reaches 16.
The teenage was encouraged by her club to take up the offer of a free referee coaching course on condition helped out officiating their matches.
