YORK under-11 schoolboys won 3-0 at Derby to clinch a cup semi-final place following goals from Oliver Walsh, Zac Cottle and George Turbine.

During the early exchanges, good attacking play down both wings from Taylor Bell and Harry Tinker created half chances before the lively Walsh opened the scoring on 13 minutes with a calm right-footed finish after Dan Myers had delivered a testing corner.

Debutant keeper Toby Bradley went on to show some fine handling to keep York in front at half-time.

In the second half, Derby struck the York crossbar but, following good work down the left from Turbine and Will Hollings, Cottle found the bottom corner in composed fashion ten minutes from time.

Turbine went on to volley in a third.
