YORK Tennis Club women’s team have got off to a flier in the Yorkshire League first division with a brace of away wins.
They toppled Harrogate Racquets 6-3 with Louise Lister and Wendy Stirke unbeaten, while Carol Collinson and Karen Retief won two and Jill Rounce and Sacha Taylor one.
That was followed by a 7-2 walloping of hosts Whitkirk. Lister and Stirke again won three, while Taylor and Kerry Smith, and Kathryn Maude and Caroline White, won two apiece.
