A PLACE at next year’s Olympic Games in London beckons for York City Rowing Club star Tom Ransley.
Ransley and his Great Britain crew-mates qualified the eights boat for the Olympics by winning their World Championship semi-final in Slovenia yesterday.
The 25-year-old University of York graduate and his colleagues are now hoping to secure their places in that boat for London by impressing in today’s final in Bled.
Ransley said: “It’s very exciting to have been a part of the team that has qualified the GB eight to the London Olympics but, for now, we are still focused on the final.”
Reigning world champions Germany are favourites for gold.
