FORMER York City Rowing Club star Tom Ransley and his eights crew mates won gold for Great Britain in the Samsung World Cup at Eton Dorney.
The University of York graduate lined up alongside North Yorkshire rower Andrew Triggs Hodge for the final, in which Great Britain were aiming to improve on Friday’s third place finish in the preliminary race on the London 2012 Olympic course.
The eight produced a superb performance to overhaul Poland in the last 500 metres of the final.
