SAM Thompson is blazing ahead in her netball career.
At just 20 years of age she gained her netball umpiring C' award earlier this year and has now become a qualified netball coach.
Thompson, a member of the Haxby 2 team which plays in the York and District Netball league, Thompson came through two days of exams at Sheffield with flying colours.
Her club chairman Val Kennedy said: "I felt as if I was pushing her at one point but I knew she was capable. We are very proud of her at Haxby Netball Club."
Also celebrating are Elvington Netball Club who have been awarded their England Netball and Clubmark award. They are only the fourth club in North Yorkshire to get the award.
