ACOMB Hockey Club men’s first team lost 4-2 at Bradford II in Yorkshire League division four north.
Ryan Foster opened the scoring in the fifth minute, his fierce shot giving the home keeper little chance.
But Bradford levelled after a misplaced pass from skipper Baz Whitfield and went in front with a penalty corner move. Matt Dickenson replied in kind to tie the scores at half-time.
Acomb conceded a third soon after the restart and despite resolute defence from the returning Simon Theaker, the Tangerines conceded a fourth via a deflection.
Both Acomb men’s II and Acomb Ladies played their respective division five north and division two leaders, Driffield II and Wakefield Wanderers.
The men led through Jonny Brown but eventually perished 4-1, while an opener from Kerry Woods could not prevent Acomb Ladies losing 2-1.
