ROACH catches dominated as Dave Armitage won the York & District Amalgamation of Anglers’ Tower Trophy on the River Ouse.
Cleckheaton angler Armitage won with a haul of 16lbs 8oz from peg 12, using groundbait, pole and maggot for his all-roach catch.
Andy Malham claimed second place from peg 20, with 6lbs of roach caught with maggot on five-metre pole.
Third place in a field of 50 anglers went to Steve Snaith at peg 44 with 3lbs 12oz.
Ian Fieldhouse shared fourth place with T Price with 3lbs 10oz.
Organisers said the river rose during the match and the introduction of colder water adversely affected weights.
