University ‘A’ will play in division one of the Northern Powergrid York and District Table Tennis League after defeating Shepherds ‘A’ 5-1 in their play-off.
Tramways retained their place in division two after a similar outcome in their play-off with Shepherds ‘C’.
RI ‘J’ will be in division three after overcoming Aviva ‘A’ 5-2.
Coneysthorpe ‘A’ completed a cup and league double for the second successive year as they took the Shepherds Cup 5-2, defeating Crescent ‘A’.
Father and son, Martin and Ethan Lowe were aided by Mike Fenby.
Martin Lowe, unbeaten in the leagues this season, was undefeated in the final despite giving at least 16 shots to his opponents.
Holgate ‘E’ began well in their Machell Trophy Final, leading 2-0, but a marvellous comeback from RI ‘I’ saw them win 5-2. Chris Megone was unbeaten for the winners.
