Sessions ‘A’ continue to lead division one of the NEDL York and District Table Tennis League after their 9-1 win over Coneysthorpe ‘B’.

Although Coneysthorpe’s Paul Young claimed the scalp of Mick Wilcockson and lost to Nathan Horsley by the narrowest margin, Sessions’ duo of Richard Moss and Horsley were unbeaten.

Second-placed Coneysthorpe ‘A’ closed the gap to just one point as they whitewashed Bootham ‘A’.

Paul Robertson led Railway ‘A’ to an 8-2 win over Shepherds ‘A’, who were grateful to Dave Lamb for guiding them to a narrow success over Bootham ‘A’.

Holgate ‘A’ dismissed Railway ‘B’ 9-1, with Alan Balmforth stepping up from division two to pick up a couple of wins.

Martin Hood guided Holgate ‘B’ to a 7-3 win over University ‘A’.

Railway ‘C’ have a commanding lead in division two and they thumped Shepherds ‘B’ 9-1 and beat BT ‘A’ by a similar score, where Luke Blackburn won his singles. Tim Smith and Jeff Cohen were undefeated in both games.

Bootham ‘B’ are joint second after edging out Sessions ‘B’ thanks to Ady McLaren.

Shepherds ‘C’ are going well at the head of division three and Gary Neads and Chris Hutchinson ensured they cruised to a 9-1 win over Railway ‘D’.

Aviva ‘A’ moved into second place after teaching University ‘B’ a lesson, winning 9-1. Matty Graham and Ernest Omane-Kodie were the key men.

Bootham ‘D’ slipped to third despite a narrow win at BT ‘B’, where Richard Collyer shone.

Division four leaders Railway ‘F’ dropped three points to Railway ‘E’, with Jake McCarthy unbeaten, while second-placed Aviva ‘B’ whitewashed Holgate ‘G’ to close the gap at the top, with Dennis Chatterton, Howard Lewis and Andrew Slezak all successful.
