York City Baths Club swimmers impressed with an overall third place out of 23 clubs competing in the Doncaster Dartes Christmas Gala in Beverley.

Two York swimmers claimed the top positions in their age group.

Alex Perry was top boy in the 11 to 13 age group with gold in the 200 metres individual medley, 100m breaststroke, 100m backstroke, 50m backstroke, 100m butterfly and 100m freestyle. He also added a bronze for the 50m breaststroke and a speeding ticket for the 50m freestyle.

Sam Russell was joint top boy for nine-year-olds, with gold in the 50m breaststroke and 50m butterfly and silver in 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke.

Aaron Perry won golds in the 200m IM, 50m freestyle, 100m butterfly and 50m backstroke, with speeding tickets in the 100m breaststroke and 100m backstroke.

Anthony Matthews got gold in the 200m IM, silver in the 50m freestyle and bronze for the 100m breaststroke.

Henry Rhodes won gold in the 200m IM, bronze for 100m breaststroke and a speeding ticket for the 50m backstroke.

Stafford Swainston and Jack Mayfield both achieved personal best times in freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.

Amelia Browne gained six pbs on her way to claiming gold in the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle, while Gabby Valks also posted six pbs and took gold in the 50m backstrokes to add to speeding tickets for 50m freestyle, 50m and 100m breaststroke.

Sophie Brown swam six pbs as she raced to gold in the 50m backstroke and 50m freestyle, silver in 50m butterfly and bronze for 100m breaststroke, as well as speeding tickets for 100m backstroke, 100m freestyle and 200m IM.

Molly Peterson had five pbs in taking gold in the 100m butterfly, silver for 100m breaststroke and speeding tickets for 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke.

Eleanor Dodd recorded four pbs and won gold in the 50m and 100m breaststroke, while there were four pbs too for Ella Deighton, who won gold for 50m freesztyle and bronze in 50m breaststroke.

Chloe Buck got bronze medals in 100m breaststroke, 100m butterfly and 200m IM.

Rowan Palmour attained three pbs in getting silver in the 100m freestyle, bronze for 100m butterfly and a speeding ticket for 50m breaststroke.

Hannah Baker gained four pbs with silver in the 50m butterfly and bronze in the 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke, plus a speeding ticket for 100m backstroke. There were six pbs for Olivia Whitehouse and speeding tickets for 100m backstroke and 50m freestyle, while Rebecca Heron got 50m freestyle and 50m backstroke bronzes and four pbs.

Annabel Gibbs also swam four pbs and had speeding tickets for the 100m backstroke and 50m freestyle.

There were four pbs also for Eleanor Cooper, who had speeding tickets for 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m butterfly and 50m breaststroke, while Ella Duke had three pbs, plus a speeding ticket for the 50m freestyle.
