CHAMPIONS IT Sports Wigginton closed out their Yorkshire Squash League division one campaign with a 3-2 home win over Appleby Frodingham.
Wigginton rang the changes to give their squad players a chance to shine and Gus Clapham was first to play, being edged out 15-11 in the decider of a five-set match.
Youngster Sam Mawson then won his match 3-1 and Mackenzie Nichol triumphed 3-1, but Ian Tooms’ 3-1 defeat left the sides locked at 2-2. Tom Pepper sealed the win with a 3-2 tie-break success.
