ACOMB surprised Heworth in the York Conservative Clubs’ Slater Cup Snooker Pairs League by consigning them to a third consecutive defeat and replacing them as leaders.
F Mallinson and M Robinson won the first game but that was negated by M Frank and D Chapman with a black ball result.
Acomb took the next three frames to lead 4-1 and, despite J Faircliffe and H Faircliffe winning the last game 63-17, Acomb easily gained the aggregate for a 5-2 win.
Bottom placed Fulford went into a 2-0 lead against Bootham, who responded by winning the remaining four frames and claiming the aggregate also for a 5-2 victory.
