North Yorkshire success in Inter-County Pool League

NORTH Yorkshire ‘A’ toppled Northumberland 23-21 in the Region One Inter-County Pool League.

Captain Simon Morris led his side to victory on the back of good performances from Dave Fisher, Paul Horner, Si Newby, Paul Thomas and Danny Tyler, who all notched three wins out of four games.

North Yorkshire ‘B’, captained by Darren Smith, went down 23-21 to the same opposition, despite Mark Falshaw winning his four games and Matt Stenson taking three wins from four games.

The county’s women’s team, skippered by Chris Morbey, trounced Northumberland 34-10.

Michelle Gatenby, Lisa Macdonald, Rena Marsden and Kate Wringe all won their four matches.

The next match is at home to East Yorkshire on Sunday, May 15.
