YORK Shotokan Karate Club student Eleanor Dook scooped medals at the recent Cumbria Open Karate Championships in Penrith.
The 15-year-old, a 2nd Dan black belt and part of the JKS National Squad, took the bronze in the individual kumite and was part of an outfit which won gold in the team kumite.
Dook has trained at YSKC for eight years and is an experienced and successful competitor at national level.
Sensei Keith Gullen,YSKC chief instructor, said: "We're very proud of Eleanor for her hard work and achievements over the years. This only adds to a fantastic year for Eleanor, after getting her 2nd Dan in February, and we look forward to her continuing success in future."
