Clifton sealed a hard-fought 7-4 victory over Flag ‘A’ in division one of the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League.

Carole Layne fired scores of 121, 100 and 100 as she shot out in 18 darts as Clifton raced into a 3-0 advantage.

Jean and Jo West and captain Chris Hedley levelled, before Jo Hodges (2 x 100) and Pat Nelson edged Clifton in front. Sue Lowery and Ruth Norman then secured the win.

Cueball’s Lynne Clapham produced a 75 bull finish in a victory over Slip.

Cygnet broke their duck as Muriel Britton led them to a 6-3 win at Tramways ‘A’.

Beeswing’s Nikki Judson and Janice Potts secured their bonus points with a closely-fought 5-4 win at Slipper.

Burnholme reinforced their hold on top spot with a 6-3 win at Acomb.

Ox won by the same margin against Haxby Club, despite having raced into a 4-0 lead.

In division three, Clifton ‘B’s Laura Wood checked out on 115 as her side had victory at Jubilee secured in the singles.

Leeman ‘A’s Debbie and Charlotte Witts snatched victory in the decider against visitors Swan.

Mount took a one-point lead at the top with a great win against Dick Turpin, whose Katie Barton was the sole singles success.

Acomb slipped into second place as Red Lion captain Alison Buckley and Naomi Palmer secured a 5-4 win, while Jenny Williams and Karen Stewart were Ox’s match winners at Sun.

Tap held a 4-2 lead over division two visitors Tramways ‘B’, despite a 24-dart leg from Rosie Hattee.

Tap added to their tally in the pairs, with Louise Iceton and Anne Keswick, then Yvette Shepherd and Jeanette Robinson, giving them a 6-3 win.

Burton proved too strong for Flag ‘B’, while Julie Stables fired a 140 in her singles and then joined St Paul’s captain Chris Lamb in toppling Cueball ‘A’.

Shepherd ‘A’ won by the same margin at Seahorse, while leaders Severus proved too strong for Woolpack.
