YORK City Knights’ game with Swinton Lions on Saturday, and the anticipated play-off matches, prompted me to look up championship play-off records in Rothmans.
In the 1932/3 season, the amber and blacks lost in the semi-finals to Salford 15-5.
York had a good team in the 1930s – a Wembley final in 1931 plus league placings in the top ten between 1931/2 through to 1935/6.
I am thinking that the Corsi brothers, Jeff Moores, Mel Rosser and Arthur Lloyd must have been in the squad.
Can anyone give me details of the 1932/3 play-off side?
Looking forward to the championship in 2010.
