YORK IBC Ladies enjoyed a convincing victory over Cumbria to reach the quarter-finals of the Mason Trophy.
In the last eight, York will meet Barwell on at Bassettlaw IBC on March 24.
Carol Instone, Melanie Brookes, Sheila Turpin and Joan Jackson took control of their game with a five and four at the third and fourth ends, and another five at the 10th put paid to any thoughts of a Cumbria fightback.
York did drop a six at the 14th end but they pulled away again for a 30-18 victory.
Linda Harrison, Helen Walker, Maureen Walker and Dot Kennelly likewise took early control of their game and after five ends led by eight shots.
They regularly picked up scores and, although they too dropped a six at the 11th end, they moved away again, leading 21-12 when Cumbria conceded the match with two ends to play.
