FULFORDGATE beat Burnholme in the battle of the top two in York John Smith's Ladies Darts League Division One.

Muriel Britton gave Gate the perfect start but Jane Dobson and captain Marj Pearson replied for Burnholme.

Michelle Britton levelled and then a 26 dart leg from Sarah Jackson, including two tons, edged the visitors in front.

Dawn Exton put the teams on a even keel again before mother and daughter, Muriel and Michelle Britton, again gave Gate the advantage.

Pearson linked up with Burnholme colleague Lynne Willstrop to set up a decider where Gate's two 'young guns' Cara Britton/Alex Exton secured match points.

Priory are keeping the pressure on the top two after a 7-2 win at Bootham Cons Club.

Sophie Simpson, Pat Cairns, Ellen Platt, Babs Harrison, and Ann Anderson registered points for Priory while Bootham's points were scored by Nicki Johnson, in the singles, and Nella Majsterek/Caz Johnson.

Despite being a player light, Edinburgh had Amanda Bevan combining with captain Chris Lamb to secure victory against visitors Marcia.

Tramways, meanwhile, were denied a 'full house' by Julie Oliver of visitors Leeman B.

In Division Two, leaders Severus B had victory secured within the singles against visitors Clifton.

Wendy Storr, Angie Kaya, Sharon Mountain, Michelle Kelly and Jan Stewart delivered the goods. Linda Turgoose achieved Clifton's only win in the singles while mother, Alice, won a pairs game single-handed.

Despite being two players short, Shoulder B went into the pairs on level terms against visitors Saddle thanks to Kirsty Limbert, Sandra Flintoft, and Stella McCarthur.

McCarthur was joined by Jackie Young to edge the home team in front before colleagues Flintoft/Limbert secured match points.

Nag's Head's final pairing Anita Adams (153)/Vicky Sellers snatched victory against visitors Burton Stone.
