JOSH Dickinson led City of York Athletic Club to an impressive medal haul at the Yorkshire Cross Country Championships.

Dickinson claimed the Under-15 Boys' title as York racked up three further team golds plus two individual silvers and one bronze medal at Lightwater Valley near Ripon.

Dickinson continued his strong recent form by leading his race from the outset and winning by around 50 metres.

Finnian Hutchinson had a good run to take the bronze medal and, with Toby Antcliff coming 14th, York took the team title.

In the Under-15 Girls' race, Martha Carlton-Seal just missed out on a medal when placing fourth.

York claimed individual silver in the Under-17 Men’s race where Angus McMillan finished second to Sheffield’s Connor Henderson who slowly edged away on the last lap to win by around 30 metres.

With Maurice Carlton-Seal coming fifth and 800m track specialist Alex Botterill also finishing in the top ten, York took their second team title of the day.

In the Under-17 Women’s race Georgia Rothwell came fifth as her two rivals for a medal pulled away on the final climb.

Josh Schofield took the club's final individual medal in the Under-20 Men's category.

Run within the senior race, Schofield successfully held off a late challenge from Rotherham’s Joe Massingham to take the silver medal.

With Tyler Hutchinson coming fourth and Robbie Brown 15th, York took home their final team title of the day.

The club had three senior runners taking part with Charlotte Mason the highest placed finisher in 15th position.
