CAPTAIN Michelle Britton ensured Fulfordgate remained top of the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League with victory over second placed rivals The Priory.

Britton scored 140 and 100 and finished in 20 darts but Pat Cairns, Di Moreland, and Clair Cooper enabled Priory to enter the pairs on level terms.

Alex Exton/Muriel Britton edged Gate in front.

But Moreland/Cooper combined to set up a deciding leg where Britton and vice-captain Dawn Exton snatched match points.

Tracey Watkinson, Danni Laycock, and Sandra Bruce were Shoulder A’s winners at Marcia who levelled thanks to Chris Hayward, Faye Hawksby and Barbara Russell.

Anne Cornthwaite/Linda Penrose edged the home side in front.

But Laycock/Watkinson levelled before colleagues Anne Bass/Wendy Shortle snatched match point for Shoulder A.

Brenda Dawe won Leeman B’s only singles point at Burnholme who wrapped up their victory before the pairs.

Jane Dobson sealed the win, while Lynne Willstrop/Sharon Neads and Caroline Whittaker/Jean West added a point.

Vicki Capes/Maggie Bedingham doubled Leeman’s tally.

Amanda Bevan finished on 62 to give Edinburgh a 4-2 advantage against visitors Tramways.

Natalie Farmeary/Jayne Janes narrowed the margin.

Bu that was before Edinburgh captain Chris Lamb joined Bevan to seal match points.

In division two, Leeman A put a dent in visitors Severus B’s title aspirations.

Margaret Yeomans started the scoring for the home team.

However, Michelle Kell, Dot Sellars and daughter Wendy Storr clocked points for Severus before Charlotte Witts and Dawn Clarke levelled for Leeman.

Yeomans combined with Jackie Gray to edge the home side in front however Sellars/Storr set up a decider.

Witts/ Clarke shone as they secured match points for the hosts.

Despite a superb 25 dart leg from Steph Barker, division leaders Severus A were beaten at home by Shoulder B.

Sara Stables, Lisa Russell, Margaret Forth, Kirsty Limbert and captain Alison Buckley all scored the points in a 6-3 victory.

Saddle were ‘unseated’ again – losing 7-4 to visitors Clifton in the final leg.

Linda Turgoose/Sarah Evans secured match points.

That came after Chris Patterson/Sharon Lyons had put the home team on level terms.

Nags were gifted a 7-0 victory when opponents Clockhouse were unable to field a team.
