SNAINTON Golf Club's John Wells carded an impressive five-under-par 67 to win the annual Malton and Norton Golf Club Pro Am tournament.
Wells took the title off club-mate Alex Belt, the 2015 winner, and with it bagged a cheque for £1,000.
The event marked the start of the Yorkshire PGA Pro Am season.
The course was in excellent condition, especially considering it was under two inches of snow only nine days earlier. It proved a good test to the 30 teams.
The winning team came home with an impressive 19-under-par total, led by Niall Murphy, the professional at Brighouse club Willow Valley, and also comprising with amateurs M Kensit, S Moyser and D Sanderson.
