CAROLE LAYNE threw a 180 and gamed in 19 darts for Tramways 'A' in their latest York John Smith's Ladies' Darts League match - but it was in vain.

Opponents Jubilee were three up by then through Maggie Bedingham, Brenda Dawe and Tracey Yeomans, and Julie Oliver and Vicki Capes soon sealed victory.

Bedingham and Louise Warren paired up to add to their tally, before Tramways took the remaining games.

Tracey Farmeary gamed in 21 as she shepherded Tramways 'B' to an 8-1 result at Edinburgh Arms, whose Emma Frankland prevented the whitewash.

Jill Reed, with a 24-dart game, put Fulfordgate ahead at Marcia but Chris Hayward, Joan Hunter and Faye Hawksby responded.

Mother and daughter Muriel and Michelle Britton levelled the scores with victories, then the Reed-Muriel Britton pairing snatched the advantage before Michelle and niece Cara Britton secured match points.

Sharon Neads and Marj Pearson threw 25-darters as Burnholme won 7-2 at Severus ‘B’, for whom Wendy Storr and Sharon Mountain took points.

In division two, Di Moreland and Ellen Platt gave Priory the advantage against Nag's Head.

Elaine Metcalfe and Vicky Sellers levelled for the visitors but Becky Thompson and Babs Harrison restored the advantage.

The pairings of Sellers-Sue Tate the Anita Adams-Metcalfe then set up a deciding leg and Nag's comeback victory was completed by Doreen Johnstone-Ann Parkyn.

Leeman versus Clockhouse was also a close affair. Kate Rankeillor, Sammy Benton, Lisa Benton and Rose Gray sent House into the pairs with a 4-2 lead.

Margaret Yeomans-Jackie Gray narrowed the gap but Sammy Benton-Sarah Rankeillor secured victory, before Denise Pittock-Dawn Clarke narrowed the winning margin.

Green Tree felled visitors Burton with superb scoring from Margaret Forth (128, 2x100) and captain Alison Buckley, who sealed match points. Linda Embleton was Burton's only point scorer before the visitors took two of the three pairs.

Wendy Sullivan put Castle Howard Ox ‘A’ ahead at Clifton but the hosts hit back, Angela Fletcher starting the victory roll, Alice Turgoose securing the match and daughter Cris combining with Karen Hodgson to add another point before Ox won the remaining games.

Vicky McLaren and Kath Powell gave Saddle a solid start against Severus ‘A’ but Sue Clark, Sheila Elliott, Mavis Gallimore and Davina Shannon put the club side in the driving seat and Gallimore-Carol Robson put the game beyond Saddle's reach.
