David Lloyd continued their good start to the season with a 60-48 win at Poppleton, as did Bishopthorpe, beating Pocklington by the same score.

York firsts had a comfortable win over their second team, Fiona Geldart and Louise Marshman taking 33 games for the defending champions.

Top scorers in division two were Castlegarth’s Rachel Hill and Sue Jacklin, who took 30 games in their team’s 62-46 win at Pocklington.

Dunnington seconds recorded their first victory of term, beating Cliffe 72-36, while Fulford produced a good team performance to sneak a 55-53 win against Rufforth.

Knaresborough got their season up and running in division three with a 70-38 win at Tollerton. Castlegarth 2 captain Rachel Butterworth and partner Fiona Chantrey claimed 32 games to lead their team to a 73-35 win against Rowntree Park. Fulford seconds and Wistow top the table, however, after victories over Appleton and Copmanthorpe 1 respectively.

Bubwith look to be settling well in division four, Liz Bramley and Gill McGrory top scoring in their 63-45 victory over New Earswick.

David Lloyd 2 stay with them at the top after overcoming Poppleton seconds 69-39. Riccall had their first win of the season at Dunnington, while Boston Spa 2 beat Sutton.

Anne Gray and Christine Viz scored 26 games in Heworth’s division five victory over Bishopthorpe seconds, while Wigginton 2’s good start continued with a 62-46 triumph against Cop 2.

Wilberfoss notched their first win since being promoted with a 65-43 score against Knareborough 2.

Consistent scoring from all three couples saw Fulford 3 inflict a 70-38 defeat over Appleton’s seconds in division six.

David Lloyd 3 had a 68-40 win at Sheriff Hutton, aided by a 26-game haul from Miranda Stephenson and Phillipa Ashley, while Poppleton thirds overcame Stamford Bridge in a rain-affected match.
