MATTHEW Scurry hit 38 not out as unbeaten York & District Hirepoint Plant & Tool Hire Under-15 Championship leaders York enjoyed an eight-wicket win against Ovington.

York’s Charlie Robinson also contributed 33 after Luke Smith had smashed 27 in Ovington’s total of 87-4.

Second-placed Sheriff Hutton Bridge overcame Heworth with 40 from Harry Sutcliffe helping post a total of 101-7.

Harry Sheppeard took 3-18 before Bridge duo Charlie Hudson (3-15) and Harry Sutcliffe (2-11) restricted Heworth to 87-9.

Clifton Alliance lie third and beat Malton & Old Malton, racking up 159-2 thanks to Hayden Bradley (53 retired), Joe Kilvington (28) and Jack Mayfield (40 not out).

Bradley then took 4-21 as Malton finished on 121-6, despite 38 from Luke Scott.

Londesborough Park succumbed to 85 all out against Woodhouse Grange with Tom Scrowton taking 2-18, Jonty Goddard 3-18 and Rebecca Ainley 3-5.

But Will Parker went on to claim 2-6 as Grange mustered 48-9.

Bolton Percy came out on top against Acomb A after reaching 125-2 thanks to 44 not out from Jack Liddle and 45 from Jack Barker.

Thomas Brown ended with figures of 1-17 but only Dan Watkinson (17) and Joe Hickey got starts with the bat for Acomb.

Four overs from Jack Pektus (0-6) and Kieran Gargan (0-8) went for just 14 runs and James Tucker claimed 3-14, Jack Barker 1-12, and James Wilson 1-18.

In division two, leaders Yapham prevailed over Osbaldwick after setting a target of 88-7 with 22 from Harry James, 12 from Dan Isenstein and 18 not out from Jamie Creasser.

Alfie Oliver (1-10), Kian Oliver (1-15), James Jacques (1-11) and Jack Allerton (2-22) fared well with the ball for Osbaldwick, who then saw Danny Dyer get 13 with the bat.

But the efforts of Henry Kay (3-5), Robert Boddy (1-13), Callum Mooney (1-11) and Oliver Robinson (1-5) reduced them to 64-9.

Second-placed Hemingbrough were unable to overcome Heworth B.

Will Rowntree (2-11) and Matthew Anderson (2-17) were the top Heworth bowlers as Hemingbrough finished with 79-9.

Their leading run-getter was George Wilson on 29 but Heworth got home on 80-8.

Matthew Sharples top scored with 49 in Bishopthorpe’s winning score of 84-7 against York B.

Gilberdyke racked up 92-6 against Acomb B despite the efforts of Robin Smith (2-9) and Joe Olney (2-19).

Sam Dredge then took 2-14 as Acomb only scored 86-8.

Pocklington were four-wicket winners against Stamford. Bridge, whose Josh Hannon hit 31 in a total of 98-8.

Tom Darley took 3-16 and Ted Baty 2-12 before George Baty top scored with 53 retired in Pock’s reply of 99-6, while Dan Harvey claimed 2-17 for Bridge.

In the President’s Cup, holders Heworth booked their place in this year’s final by beating Bolton Percy.

Ryan Whitley struck 50 retired and was supported by Ed Rymer (20) and Harry Sheppeard (31) as Heworth made 157-6.

For Percy, Jack Liddle (3-13), Joseph Dobson (2-12), Kieran Gargan (1-14) and James Wilson (0-13) offered most resistance.

In reply, Jack Barker (55 retired) then made the biggest contribution in Percy’s 125-9.

Alex Bell (2-15), Paddy Slade (2-16), Dan Davidson (2-15), Kewell Ford (1-14), Luke Huffer (1-23) and Ojas Pandy (1-11) kept Heworth on track for the final.
