YORK John Smith's Ladies League division one front runners Fulfordgate hit second placed Burnholme for six as Dawn Exton, Cara Britton, Muriel Britton set the ball rolling.

While ‘Holme hit back with Caroline Whittaker, Sarah Jackson and captain Marj Pearson levelling the match, the front runners cleaned up in the pairs as Michelle Britton and Exton gamed 25 in the final clash.

Tramways ‘A’ won by the same 6-3 margin against visitors Edinburgh, whose Amanda Bevan ensured they entered the pairs all square. Tramways then made home advantage count, winning the remaining legs.

Sandra Bruce hit the tons for Ox ‘B’ as they entered the pairs on level term with visitors Marcia ‘A’, whose captain Di Moreland led from the front with two tons.

Sandra Winters and Ellen Platt edged the Bishopthorpe side in front before Moreland combined with Clair Cooper to seal victory.

Bruce, teamed with Tracy Watkinson, narrowed the winning margin.

Tramways ‘B’ had Gina Whittaker, Tina Platt, Natalie and mother Tracey Farmeary giving them a 4-2 advantage at Severus ‘A’, whose Sue Clark, Steph Barker replied.

The elder Farmeary, with Pat Bowness, secured match points with Jayne Janes and Platt adding a point. The pairing of Barker and Jackie Simpson put another point on the board for Severus.

Severus ‘B’ fared better than their ‘A’ team as Dot Sellars and Margaret Forth snatched victory in the final pairs game after Sellars, Ann Meek, Sharon Mountain had made sure they entered the pairs on level terms at Marcia ‘B’, whose Sharon Rishworth, Faye Hawksby, Anne Cornthwaite had prevailed.

In division two, leaders Ox ‘A’ were prevented from a clean sheet by Leeman's final pairing Debbie Witts and Margaret Yeomans. Jubilee ‘B’ hosted their ‘A’ team, whose captain Heather Bulmer, and Louise Warren gave them an ideal start before Rosie Hattee narrowed the gap.

Julie Oliver restored the lead but wins from Maggie Bedingham and Eileen Haw saw that the teams entered the pairs all square.

The pairings of Oliver and Brenda Dawe and Bulmer and Tracey Yeomans sealed victory.

Laura Gatenby closed 61, Rose Gray, Lisa Benton gave Acomb a 3-1 lead after Vicky McClaren had put Saddle on the scoresheet.

Colleagues Sharon Nelson and Doreen England levelled and Benton was joined by Libby Rankeillor and Gray combined with Sarah Rankeillor to seal victory for the home side.

Clifton's Karen Hodgson, Angela Fletcher, Linda Turgoose gave them a 3-0 advantage before Kirsty Limbert troubled the scorers for visitors Green Tree.
