EVIDENCE of how golf continues to put a spring in your step was displayed doubly at Malton & Norton Golf Club.
That’s where a special breakfast, including celebratory cake, was prepared for members Frank Lownsbrough and Roy Stenton after both reached the milestone of their 90th birthdays.
The duo are the oldest playing members at the Welham Road-based club, and still play nine holes three times a week.
Friends joined them for their nine holes followed by a clubhouse breakfast celebration.
Stenton joined Malton & Norton in 1985, and Lownsbrough ten years later, and each have been active members.
Survivors of the Second World War, Stenton was a pilot in the RAF, while Lownsbrough served in the Royal Artillery.
