TOUR travails continued for York’s Simon Dyson after a laboured first round in the True Thailand Classic.
Dyson - bidding to get his year back into a healthy groove - carded a one-over 73 in the $2 million event today.
Two birdies at the fifth and 13th holes were the only successes on the Black Mountain Golf Club, where he suffered three dropped shots on the third, sixth and 15th holes.
The world number 141 was down in 90th ahead of tomorrow's second round, with Northern Ireland’s Michael Hoey leading the field by one shot after he compiled a course record eight-under-par 64.
Knaresborough-born John Parry shared 55th position after a one-under-par 71.
