YORK’S Neil Hart reached the last 128 of the BDO Sunparks Masters in Belgium before losing 4-2 to Holland’s Pedro Heijnen.

Hart narrowly missed out on his first tour ranking points, having earlier got to the last 16 in the men’s pairs with former Belgium number two John Desreumaux.

Belgian duo Wim Dierckx and Geert Gijbels were seen off 3-1 in the first match with Hart and Desreumaux throwing an 18-dart 701 leg.

Consecutive 3-0 triumphs then defeated Dutch pairings Dennis Zijderhand and Thomas Van Wieringen and Marc Van Hoult and Tim Legius.

Having gone 2-0 down in their next match against Belgium’s world number 35 Stefaan Deprez and his compatriot Roger Janssen, Hart and Desreumaux eventually went through 3-2 but their fine run came to an end when they bowed out 3-1 to Niels Kippersluis and Daniel Brouwerer.

Hart threw five 180s during the tournament, along with three ton-plus finishes.

At the Northern Ireland Open, Hart fell at the first hurdle in each of the competitions he entered, losing 3-1 in the mixed triples with Irish team-mates Aeron Elias and Julie Hunter.

Elias and Hart went on to lose 3-0 in the men’s pairs against Jamie Hughes and Micky Stocks.
